BBC are currently producing a drama about the beginnings of Doctor Who entitled ‘An Adventure in Space and Time’, as part of a tribute to the 50th anniversary.

Most interestingly, actor David Bradley (Filch – the Hogwarts caretaker from Harry Potter) will play William Hartnell in a lead up to his role as the First Doctor.

The drama, written by Dr Who writer Mark Gattiss will explore the genesis of the programme and casting of William Hartnell. Actor’s Jessica Raine and Brian Cox will also appear.

The 90 minute one-off programme will be shown on BBC 2 sometime later in the year.
