The Wet Wet Wet singer Marti Pellow has joined the cast of Jeff Wayne’s new generation War Of The Worlds (WOTW) musical stage tour 2012.
Pellow will be starring alongside other confirmed cast members : Jason Donovan who will play Parson Nathaniel, with West End star Kerry Ellis portraying his wife, Beth, and Kaiser Chiefs’ Ricky Wilson as The Artilleryman.
A final guest artist is still to be announced.
The new generation WOTW is taking a bold step by dispensing entirely with Richard Burton’s monologue and replacing him with new dialogue by Liam Neeson. A move which has split the WOTW fans down the middle.
Whatever you think of this change, it will be interesting to see the new 3D SFX involving Neeson as a hologram interacting with the real characters on stage.
WOTW kicks off in Liverpool on 1st December 2012, followed by other major UK city dates.
