Rodney King, the man who was the spark for the 1992 LA Riots, has been found dead.
King who was 47, was found at the bottom of his swimming pool by his Fiance. Foul play was not suspected, according to reports from LA Authorities.
King was to become a flash point in history in March 1991, when he was pulled over and half beaten to death by white Police Officers. His beating was videotaped by a bystander and its release sparked universal condemnation.
Matters later came to a head the following year, when 2 of the 4 police officers tried, were acquitted and this sparked the riots in 1992.
King appealed for calm, going on TV and in his now famous quote asked people to “just get along!”.
He later sued the LA Police department and won $3 million dollars (£2.5 million pounds).
