Doctor Who’s new companion has been unveiled today as Jenna-Louise Coleman a former Emmerdale actress.

The actress who is 25, has also appeared in BBC Waterloo road and the new mini series Titanic about the ill fated ship which struck an iceberg.

Coleman will replace Karen Gillian’s character Amy Pond in the new series. Gillian will be appearing for much of the series, with Coleman first appearance being this years Christmas Special.
