The Comedian Frank Carson has died aged 85, after a long illness.

Carson won Opportunity Knocks 3 times in the late 60′s and early 70′s. He was also a regular on kids show Tiswas, alongside Chris Tarrant.

Carson became well known for his catchphrases : “It’s a cracker!” & “It’s the way I tell ‘em!”.

In later years Carson’s health deteriorated and he had a maglignent tumour removed from his stomach. A planned appearance on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity was cancelled, due to fears over health insurance.
