The BBC has confirmed that Sherlock actor Benedict Cumberbatch (and ex-Doctor Who contender) is attached to the new JJ Abrams Star Trek movie.
The new Trek film, which is out next year, will also feature actor – Noel Clarke, who played assistant Mickey in Doctor Who.
Still no word of a role for the Shat, Paramount confirmed that no further guest reprisals from the original cast would happen.
Shame, I could see a nice scene of [Chris Pine] Kirk going home to Iowa and meeting the Shat as Grandad Kirk down on the farm. Cue inspirational talk about the responsibilities of a Starship captain, etc. Ok, I took 2 mins to think that up but the script writers could have found a role for the Shat, somewhere.
Still it will be interesting watching Cumberbatch – villian? The british usually are…
