After 28 years everybody’s favourite ITV Scottish detective drama – Taggart is to be axed. What makes this series truly amazing is that the character Taggart hasn’t been in the show for the last 17 years.

Mark McManus who played Taggart the series eponymous hardbitten cop on the edge, died in 1994 and seemingly they just replaced him over the years with other detectives.

Somehow, the TV landscape won’t miss this once great 80′s show which was way past its best.
